2025 College Scholarship Program Winners

Local 30 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, AFL-CIO, will offer annually 15 scholarships of one thousand ($1,000) dollars each for full member’s child(ren).
Each scholarship shall consist of a single payment to the successful applicant.

2026 Central Labor Council Memorial Scholarship
Open to IBEW Local 30 members who live in Monmouth or Ocean Counties, as well as any member of IBEW Local 30.
Dear FULL members of IBEW Local 30,
The Central Labor Council of Monmouth & Ocean Counties is pleased to once again offer scholarship opportunities for students in 2026. Each year the Council allocates funding for ten (10) $1000 scholarships. Local 30 has assigned delegates to the Council and therefore children of our members are eligible to apply. I am pleased to report that for the last six years a dependent of a Local 30 member has been awarded a $1000 scholarship. Applicants must be attending or planning to attend a College, University, or Technical School, and be a member or the child of a current or deceased member of a union affiliated with the Monmouth and Ocean Central Labor Council AFL-CIO.
Please read the eligibility requirements carefully and be sure to complete both pages. Please note publication of the “Letter to the editor” does not need to be published, but a copy of the letter must be included with your application.
Also please note the Member Verification section must be signed by an officer of Local 30 after confirming the member is in good standing. Local 30 also pays a per capita fee each year to remain in good standing with the Labor Council. If you have any questions, please let me know. I also encourage all of you to attend our monthly membership meetings to find out what is going on and to ask questions. Meeting information is posted on our web site each month.

2026 Union Plus® Scholarship Program
Application deadline: January 31, 2026
Since 1991, the Union Plus Scholarship Program has awarded more than $4.8 million to students of union families. Over 3,200 union families have benefited from our commitment to higher education.
Award amounts: $500 to $4,000. These one-time cash awards are for study beginning in the Fall of 2024. Students may re-apply each year.
Award date: May 31, 2025. During the first week of June 2024 award recipients will be notified by postal mail, and all applicants will be sent email notification.
